#48 – The Invasion

Ray and Debra stay with Frank and Marie while their house is being fumigated.

#49 – Driving Frank

Frank hits Robert’s patrol car, so Ray tells Frank he can’t drive the kids until he retakes his license test.

#50 – The Sitter

Ray and Debra hire the perfect babysitter, but the kids end up liking her too much.

#51 – Getting Even

Ray, the auctioneer for a school’s benefit, makes several jokes about the jewelry box Debra made for the event. Upset, she vows to get even.

#52 – The Visit

Debra’s mother comes for a visit and, from the moment she arrives, complains and insists on spending time away from the family – even considering checking into a hotel. Debra is deeply hurt.

#53 – Halloween Candy

Ray considers a vasectomy, but instead returns home with multicoloured condoms, telling Debra that the “stuff” will now be his responsibility.

#54 – Moving Out

Ray and Debra tease Robert about not having his own apartment, so he moves out…and moves in with an older couple who are exact replicas of Frank and Marie.

#55 – The Article

Andy asks Ray to read an article he has written, and Ray gives him a lot of criticism and several suggestions. Later, Andy thanks Ray and says Sports Illustrated bought his article, which he submitted without including any of Ray’s suggestions.

#56 – The Lone Barone

Ray vents to Robert about how miserable he is in his marriage and tells Robert that he’s lucky to live alone. Later, Robert breaks up with Amy. Everyone blames Ray.

#57 – No Fat

It’s Thanksgiving, and Frank and Marie have high cholesterol, so Marie makes a tofu turkey. Ray, behind Marie’s back, orders a complete holiday dinner.

#58 – The Apartment

Robert’s new apartment building is full of incredibly gorgeous women, so Ray starts making lame excuses to go visit him. When Debra comes by, she discovers why Ray has been going so often.

#59 – The Toaster

Ray buys the family engraved toasters for Christmas. Everybody loves them, except Franks and Marie, who return theirs for a coffeemaker.

#60 – Ping-Pong

Ray and Robert reminisce about how Frank tortured them while playing ping-pong, until the day twelve-year-old Ray finally beat him. When Marie says that Frank let him win, Ray demands a rematch.

#61 – Pants on Fire

Frank and Marie find a beer bottle cap that Ray admits came from a party he threw one weekend back in high school. Marie is shocked that Ray would have lied to her and thrown a party behind her back. Upset with Ray, she starts favouring Robert.

#62 – Robert’s Date

Judy invites Robert out with all her black friends, and Robert, felling awkward, starts acting like a black person.

#63 – Frank’s Tribute

Frank’s lodge votes him “Man of the Year.” Ray and Robert interview lodge members for a tribute video. But now one rally likes Frank, so Ray doctors the video.

#64 – Cruising With Marie

Ray and Robert buy their parents a cruise for Marie’s birthday, but Frank hurts his knee, so Ray is forced to go with his mom.

#65 – Ray Home Alone

Ray is home alone for the weekend, but he can’t sleep because he’s afraid. When Robert has similar troubles, he and Ray blame Frank and his scary bedtime stories. They decide to give him a good scare, hiding in his closet and waiting.

#66 – Big Shots

Ray takes Robert to Cooperstown to meet the ’69 Mets. Ray tries to cut in line using his press pass, causing a scene and getting both of them thrown out.

#67 – Move Over

Debra likes to cuddle with Ray in bed, but Ray can’t sleep that way. Their priest advises Ray that she probably needs more affection during the day.

#68 – The Getaway

Ray, though afraid of alone time with his wife, reluctantly agrees to go on a bed-and-breakfast weekend with her.

#69 – Working Girl

Debra lands a job as a copywriter, but Ray isn’t very supportive. However, when Debra gets fired, Ray goes to get her job back.

#70 – Be Nice

Ray and Debra realize that they treat everyone else better than they treat each other and vow to remedy the situation.

#71 – Dancing with Debra

Robert needs a wing dancing partner, so Ray suggests Debra. They have a great time and make another date, but Ray, jealous, sabotages it by telling Robert that Debra didn’t have fun.

#72 – Robert Moves Back?

After Robert and Amy have sex at his apartment, they learn that the entire building saw them in the act. Robert, ashamed, crashes in Ray’s basement.

#73 – How They Met

A flashback to when Ray and Debra first meet. He delivers a futon to her apartment, and she invites him to dinner
