#23 - Ray's on TV

Ray's first TV appearance, on the show Sportscall, is a disaster. Ray's second appearance is even worse.

#24 - Father Knows Least

Ray and Debra take a class, "Parenting Effectiveness Training," and learn a new technique called "Active Listening."

#25 - Brother

It's the two-year anniversary of Robert's divorce, and Marie and Frank convince Ray to spend the evening with his brother. But Ray fears that he'll have to spend the night listening to Robert talk about his feelings.

#26 - Mozart

Ray wants Ally to take piano lessons with Marie, but Ally is not receptive to this idea. Ray takes a piano lesson from Marie, hoping to inspire his daughter.

#27 - Golf

Ray tricks Debra into letting him play golf, but then has a panic attack in the locker roo. Ray's doctor tells him to relieve stress by playing more golf.

#28 - Anniversary

On Frank and Marie's fourtieth anniversary, they fight, and Franks says the only good year out of forty was the year he left Marie. Flashback to 1967, where we see why Franks left... and why he returned.

#29 - Working Late Again

Debra brings Ray dinner at the office and finds him goofing off, playing paper football. Debra gets Ray to start working from home.

#30 - The Children's Book

When Ray tries to help Debra write a children's book, they end up with two different versions and decide to let Ally choose which one is better.

#31 - The Gift

Ray gets caught off-guard when Robert buys Frank an impressive TV "Remote Boat." So Ray decides to buy Frank a fancy tropical fish aquarium.

#32 - High School

Ray goes to his high school reunion and ends up with the nerds, while Debra hangs with the popular crowd.

#33 - The Letter

After Marie ruins Debra's Tupperware party, Debra sends Marie an angry letter.

#34 - All I Want for Christmas

It's Christmastime, and Ray tries repeatedly to get Debra "in the mood," but he keeps getting thwarted. Debra finally tells Ray that he'ls sexiest when he's just being himself.

#35 - Civil War

Ray learns that Frank is taking Robert to a Civil War reenactment and manipulates Frank into asking him to go, too. Ray confesses tha the just wanted to be close to his father.

#36 - Mia Famiglia

Ray and Ally track down the Barones' oldest living relative: Aunt Sarina in Italy. Three weeks later, Aunt Sarina shows up at their door and transforms the Barone family.

#37 - Marie's Meatballs

Marie teaches Debra her recipe for meatballs, but Ray hates them. Later, Debra discovers that Marie swiched spices on her.

#38 - The Checkbook

Ray takes over the family finances, and within six weeks they're in financial hell.

#39 - The Ride-Along

Ray goes on a ride-along in Robert's squad car. That night, Ray gets to see Robert foil a holdup at Nemo's.

#40 - The Family Bed

Ray won't let Ally sleep in their bed. Debra always has to go to be with Ally in her room, but now it's Ray's turn. Ray gets Marie to secretly do it for him.

#41 - Good Girls

Marie admits she likes Amy more than Debra because she's a "good girl," i.e., virginal, just like Marie was before marriage. Competing with Robert, Ray lies to his mother, telling her that Debra was also a good girl.

#42 - T-ball

Ray and Debra fail to bring an approved snack to T-ball, and Debra refuses to knuckle under to pressure from the other parents.

#43 - Traffic School

Robert teaches traffic school with the aid of his ventriloquist dummy parter, Traffic Cop Timmy.

#44 - Six Feet Under

Ray discovers that he is "five-eleven and three quarters," though he thought he was six feet tall. This triggers a midlife crisis, and upon making a list of his goals, Ray decides there's nothing to look forward to and becomes obsessed with death.

#45 - Garage Sale

At the family garage sale, face with selling the crib and baby clothes, Ray isn't so sure that he and Debra are done having kids. By the end of the sale, Ray is convinced they're done, but Debra isn't so sure.

#46 - The Wedding, Part I

In a flashback, we see Ray's marriage proposal to Debra via his newspaper column. After she accepts, Ray worries that Debra felt compelled to say yes because his family was there, or that she just wants a wedding.

#47 - The Wedding, Part II

After a flashback to the days leading up to their wedding, Ray fears Debra doesn't love him, but just wants a wedding, and he gets cold feet.
